Evidence-Based Practices

Anchor 1

Individual
Counseling

Each client will be assigned a primary counselor or therapist with significant relevant work experience in the treatment field. The focus of individual counseling will be to address issues relevant to sobriety, abstinence, personal growth, emotional well-being and the monitoring of the client’s progress in our program.

Group
Counseling

Group counseling sessions are limited to a maximum of 12 clients. We believe that clients often learn better from the experiences of other clients in their peer group and they can together support, encourage, and make a contribution to each other’s recovery.

Family
Counseling

We strongly believe that effective treatment often requires family involvement and unless otherwise contraindicated, seek to encourage the involvement of relevant family members in the treatment process. Strong family involvement is often the key to maintain a strong recovery program and sobriety.

Experiential
Counseling

Experiential therapy involves actions, movements, and activities rather than the more traditional “talk therapy.” Experiential therapy is a therapeutic approach that encourages clients to identify and address hidden or subconscious issues through activities such as role playing, guided imagery, the use of props, and a range of other active experiences.

Experiential therapy services provided include recreation therapy, fitness therapy, animal assisted therapy, expressive arts therapy, music therapy, wilderness therapy, adventure therapy, and psychodrama.

Adolescent Substance
Use Treatment

The Forward Thinking curriculum developed by David Mee-Lee provides evidence based treatment that encourages positive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the lives of our youth. Treatment is probation approved.
