Michael King - LPC
Clinical/Program Director

Michael is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds a master’s degree in counseling and a bachelor’s degree in youth and human service administration. Michael has been in practice in the Verde Valley for over ten years. His counseling experiences have included working with children, adolescents, and adults in coping with a variety of relationship problems, mental health, and substance use disorders. Michael has served as quality assurance and clinical director of a large residential treatment center serving adolescent females, clinical director of a boys boarding school, and has owned and operated numerous programs for children, adolescents and adults. In addition to his direct counseling experience, he has held numerous administrative management positions in the private and public sectors and has also held multiple roles in community leadership through various committees.

Wade King - LPC
CFO
Wade is a Licensed Professional Counselor and co-founder of Red Rock Family Services, Wade has been working in the counseling profession since 1997. After 2 years providing services to Inmates in the Harris County Jail, Houston, Texas, Mr. King began working with inner city youth, and their families. This led to the creation of a community-based program employing therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists in the delivery of services to children in and out of protective care. After years of being mostly an administrator, Mr. King went back into private practice to work with foster children dealing with personal trauma as well as with youth who sexually offend. Mr. King is excited for the new challenge of opening Red Rock Family Services and serving the Verde Valley Community.

Darla King - CMOM
Certified Medical Office Manager / Consultant
Darla is a Certified Medical Office Manager.  She has worked in both Medical and Mental Health practices over the course of her career.  Darla has a strong background in coordinating administrative processes, managing inventories, handling patient scheduling, overseeing budgets, staffing, and creating and implementing business development plans.  Over her career she has demonstrated leadership, teamwork, a positive attitude, excellent organizational skills, and computer proficiency.  Darla looks forward to helping Red Rock Family Services serve the families of the Verde Valley Community.

Debbie King - LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Debbie has a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Northern Arizona University and holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University. She is also a mother of two grown daughters and a grandmother. Her experiences have included working with children, adolescents, adults and families in coping with a variety of personal and relationship concerns, and mental health disorders. After completing her BSW, Debbie worked at a Domestic Violence Shelter in Phoenix, Arizona. While there, Debbie helped many adult and children survivors find hope and emotional support; as well as resources to help empower them to successfully move beyond their past and see themselves as survivors. She completed her internship for her MSW at a Community Behavioral Health agency in Colorado. While at the agency, she counseled people from diverse backgrounds and mental health needs. After completing her MSW, Debbie worked at a behavioral health hospital, providing diagnosis and therapeutic resources for people in crisis. She went on to work as a family therapist, and then as a Liaison and counselor at a Middle School.

Karen Marzullo, MA, LPC
Certified EMDR Therapist
Karen is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been working in the Verde Valley for 8.5 years. She has worked as an intake therapist, a therapist with SMI (seriously mentally ill) and GMH (generally mentally ill) adolescents and adults, and a therapist for co-occurring women in a substance use residential setting. She is also a certified EMDR therapist. Karen also has experience working with co-occurring adults in Maricopa County in community residential settings, as a therapist with SMI and GMH adults while also performing the duties of the program manager for the residential program. While she was earning her counseling degree, she was a case manager and rehabilitation specialist for SMI and GMH adults. Prior to her career in the mental health field, she worked for the Maricopa County Superior Court for 23 years. Karen also volunteered in Maricopa County as a CASA with foster children for 10 years. She completed her counseling internship with Arizona Hospice primarily in the Phoenix, Sun City, and Sun City West areas of Maricopa County.

Patricia L. May - B.S.Ed., MS

Patty has an bachelor’s degree in art education and holds a Master’s degree in counseling psychology. Patty taught elementary art for 7 years, head start for 7 years and is the mother of three grown daughters. As a teacher in the Addison school district in Addison, New York, Patty developed and taught the elementary art Program as well as working with a granted video project integrating special needs children into the regular classroom for art classes . Upon moving to Fayette county Pa. she started her head start career. She left the head start role and began to work in a pilot family therapy program in Pennsylvania. This program was funded through a State grant and opened family therapy centers throughout the State. Each program was given three years of intense training with the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic. Patty served as the liaison for children’s services at Chestnut Ridge counseling services and as an addiction counselor for the Fayette County Drug and Alcohol Commission before leaving Pennsylvania and moving to Cottonwood Arizona in 1995. When Patty arrived in Arizona, she began to work for the Verde Valley Guidance Center, now known as SPECTRUM. She served this center for may years and in many different capacities. Patty started as a crisis counselor and then became a case manager for the seriously mentally ill. Patty was given the opportunity with agency in 2006 to develop a program for women with addictions and serious mental illness. The program that Patty developed, The Woman’s World, opened in February of 2007 and is still opened and serving woman with additions and seriously mental illness today. The program won the NARBHA Mickey Hawley Award for new program in 2007. In 2013 Patty retired from this agency but continues to work as a therapist in he Vere Valley. Community, Creativity, and the arts have always driven Patty’s thinking. As s member of the community Patty has led a life of service which started with her work as president of the teacher’s union in 1975. She has been president of the PTA and art clubs and was a member of the Verde Valley leadership class 8.Patty would say that her greatest accomplishments are her three daughters, who are all college educated and work in the service fields. Patty has been busy enjoying a life that includes service to many.

Ciera Dumyahn, LAC
Therapist

Ciera is a Licensed Associate Counselor and holds a master’s degree in counseling from Portland State University. Ciera grew up in Sedona and has been practicing in the Verde Valley for 4 years. Ciera specializes in working with children, adolescents, women, and anyone healing from trauma. Ciera is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, CBT, DBT, and group counseling. Ciera is a registered yoga teacher and incorporates mindfulness into her counseling practice. In her time outside the counseling office, she enjoys flower gardening, hiking, cooking, and traveling.

Laura Mitchell, BHT
Laura has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from The University of California at Santa Cruz. Additionally, she holds a  Multiple Subject Teaching Credential (K-8) and a specialization in Special Education with Moderate to Severe Disabilities from San Jose State University. 
Laura’s background includes working with children and families in the classroom, home, and behavioral health care environments/settings. Laura has over fifteen years experience working with children with physical, mental, emotional, and learning disabilities. Her goal is to provide a compassionate and personalized approach when addressing a child’s specific needs. She is focused on building essential skills, including communication, socialization, behavior, and self-care. Laura is passionate about empowering families with the emotional support, knowledge, and skills needed in order to support their child. She provides resources to parents so that skills are incorporated into daily routines and reinforces work accomplished during sessions.

Kelsey Cochran, MS, BHT
Therapist

Kelsey holds her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Grand Canyon University. Kelsey grew up in the Verde Valley and has been in the mental health field for 4 years, having spent previous years working as a public-school teacher. Kelsey specializes in working with young adults and adolescents with trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and/or bipolar, as well as other day-to-day concerns. Kelsey utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Person-Centered Counseling, believing that these modalities complement one another and create a holistic and client-centered environment that promotes self-empowerment, healing, and personal growth.

Maggie Fega, BHT

Maggie is originally from New York. She earned her bachelors’ degrees in psychology and sociology from the State University of New York at New Paltz. She then pursued graduate studies at The New School for Social Research in Manhattan, New York.

 

Maggie began her career working on an adolescent psychiatric crisis unit at Four Winds Hospital in Katona, New York. She was part of a clinical team treating at- risk teens, who required short term hospitalization for psychiatric disorders and past traumas.

 

Maggie moved to Arizona over 30 years ago and has spent her career working with various populations, providing case management and therapeutic interventions. She spent 16 years working for the Superior Court of Yavapai County, supervising the CASA, Court Improvement and Family Drug Courts. In this capacity, she worked with children and families in crisis, victims of abuse and court ordered individuals.  This work was done in conjunction with various area agencies, providing support and services to vulnerable individuals.

 

Upon leaving the Court, Maggie continued to work in the field of domestic violence. She obtained the position of Legal and Outreach Director for the Verde Valley Sanctuary (Domestic Violence Shelter) in 2017. In addition to her supervisory responsibilities, she provided counseling and short-term solution-based therapy to her clients.

 

Maggie has also co- founded two successful 501(c)(3) organizations in Arizona. The focus of these programs is to provide services to underserved, marginalized populations, particularly abused children and their families.
